Speech Therapist Shirt

April 12, 2019

Thank your Speech Therapist for teaching you to talk back with this awesome DIY t-shirt. This was made for a gift in a few easy steps using the Cricut Maker and the Cricut Easy Press. If you do not own an Easy Press an iron can be substituted.

I went with a simple font in Design Space for Cricut and made this in a few minutes. When you are sending your design to cut do not forget to mirror it. Or do not be like me and run your iron-on paper with the shiny side up! It was my first run!

So with the iron on sheet (shiny side down) I ran my cut through and weeded it out with tools. I followed the recommended steps and washed my t shirt first and allowed it to completely dry. I did a few passes with my Cricut Easy Press just to straighten the shirt a little. I laid down my cut iron on transfer. I used a ruler for this but found it easier to fold the t shirt in half and find the center of the shirt using this method.

Following the recommended times from Cricut for everyday iron-on vinyl I gave gentle pressure on the Easy Press for 30 seconds and flipped my shirt and applied gentle pressure for another 15 seconds. After examining my t-shirt I felt that it needed a little more so I gave it one more press for 15 seconds.

Peel off the clear sheet and listo! You have a very nice and unique gift to give to that special speech therapist in your life!
