Happy Fourth of July everyone! Although things are crazy and allover the place, I suppose we are the firecrackers this year! Every year since I can remember we would load up the car and take our coin jar and everything we had to buy the most fireworks possible and go pyro crazy! It was a fun free for all experience and I cannot help but feel melancholy we will not go this year.
Even though we cannot celebrate and pop fireworks as we always do each year, we can always look forward to the next and be thankful that we are here and able to at enjoy ourselves…and make a sweet project!
This time I would like to present to you the blue and white stars for you to download and make and enjoy a refreshing drink from your favorite cup!
Materials
- Starbucks Cold Cup or Hot Cup – I get mine from Starbucks
- Vinyl color of your choice – I use Oracal and buy these from Amazon but you can find them at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns
- Transfer Tape – to lift vinyl off of Cricut mat
- A dab of alcohol on a napkin to wipe the surface of your Starbucks Cold Cup
Tools
- A cutting machine such as the Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker I have these one
- Tools to weed out the fine details today I am trying out a new one I ordered on Amazon which is this one.
- Scraper tool or old gift card, I use the scraper tool from this Cricut Set
Instructions
Gather your materials and prepare the scene
STEP 1: Download your FREE SVG from the Library (you will need to sign up to gain access!)
Once you have downloaded your file, upload your SVG into Cricut Design Space. (everything is sized specifically for the cold cup or hot cup, just make sure you choose the design for the cup you are working with)
STEP 2: Cut your Design on Vinyl Sticker Paper
Hit the Make it at the top right-hand corner of your screen and load your vinyl regular side up
Weed out the negative parts of the design
STEP 3: Transfer the Vinyl with Transfer Tape
Lay your piece of transfer paper on top and go over it with a flat edge, the Cricut Scraper tool works for this or even an old gift card. I cut the Blue circle with Stars first, then I laid them on top of the white circle.
Lift the vinyl
STEP 4: Carefully line your circle up with the Starbucks logo (check out video below)
Balance your Starbucks Cup by placing it on top of a rag or t-shirt just to keep it from rolling around. Start from the middle and then slowly lay it down (this can be a learning curve but you will get it, just take your time!) Once you have it placed and before you remove the transfer tape, press firmly over the design with your fingers and go over it with your scraper tool or old gift card.
Remove the Transfer paper and make sure the vinyl is pressed down on all edges.
