The Day of the Dead or Dia de Los Muertos is a colorful holiday celebrated in Mexican culture and has found its way to the Central America. One might be thrown off by the name of the holiday itself reacting to “Day of the Dead” but in reality, it is a colorful way to celebrate the memory of those that have left our side. Before it was a little hard to find décor for this holiday in America but now it is becoming more and more common especially as movies such as “Coco” have become popular.
I had these little pumpkins that I had picked up at the Dollar Tree maybe about two years ago? And a few other pumpkins that I had collected here and there.
I decided that the base color should be white to offset all the super pretty and bright colors.
I sought a little inspiration from my Pinterest boards on creating some designs and just free handed them from there. I used my favorite Sharpie Oil based pens to do the drawing and glued on some rhinestones that I had left over from a previous project.
